This is my friend, Pepper. I’ve had him since I was four and he was just an egg. He’s 20 now, and he’s not doing so well.

Some of you know him from this blog, some of you may have just seen some of his posts around Tumblr, and for some of you this may be the first time you’re seeing him. For over a year Pepper has gained followers and made friends through the bird community here on Tumblr. He’s been with me through so much and now I want to there for him. I’m hoping that you guys will help me with that.

This morning I woke up to find Pepper had vomited all over himself. I washed him up and he is currently in a hospital cage. He’s continued to periodically vomit, and he is very fluffed up and sleepy. He is sick. I am not sure what’s wrong yet. I made an appointment for him with an avian vet, but they won’t be able to see him until tomorrow.

These things always seem to happen at the worst time. I’m in a bit of a bind financially at the moment. I was told it would be $65 for the vet to see Pepper plus additional fees for any tests they have to run and medications.

I can cover some of this, but I will have to dig into my rent money. I do not yet know how much this will cost, but vet bills for small animals like birds can really pile up. I’m asking for $250 to help cover what will likely be a high bill tomorrow. All of this will go towards my birds. If there is extra money, I will put it away specifically in case an emergency like this happens again. I hate to ask my followers and Tumblr for this, and I want to make it the last time.

I do not possess the words to describe to you what this little cockatiel means to me. I barely have any memories of before he came into my life. Please, if you can donate, please do here. The site I am using (FundAnything) allows you to donate by PayPal or credit card. I will send thank you cards to anyone who donates. If you donate and would like one, please send me your address in an ask here on Tumblr.

Even if you cannot donate, a signal boost would mean the world to me.

Please help my friend.

Pepper is the face of one of my favorite bird Tumblrs pepperandpals. He’s sick and in need of some help. His owner Amanda is an amazing owner that gives her birds an immense amount of love and great quality of life. Even $5 or a reblog will mean so much to this special bird and his owner.

I need your help to protect Mauna Kea! I’m asking everyone I know and everyone I don’t to take a photo of themselves holding up a sign or they can write on their shirt, or their body, whatever they feel, the words “WE ARE MAUNA KEA” and ask their friends, family, and fans to click on the link in my profile to sign the petition and learn more. We need 1million signatures. Please help, this is more than just about Mauna Kea it’s about Mother Nature and preserving her for future generations.

So they want to build a Giant Telescope and science thing on Mauna Kea, a mountain/dormant volcano on The Big Island of Hawai'i. Normally I’d be all for it, but if you take a look at the letter they’ve sent their governor, there’s lots of historical and cultural sites, and it’s apparently home to a lot of rare organisms, including Hawai'is state bird. There is already an observatory on Mauna Kea, which is a coveted site for astronomy things because it’s very tall and very dry and the summit peaks above the clouds.

Like, science is great and all, but looking into space at the cost of the environment here on earth and the people who live there is not cool. Community backlash should be enough to stop this; sites important to people native to the land should be protected. Why not renovate or update the existing telescopes on Mauna Kea? Like, it’s an issue of science (which i love) vs people, culture, and preservation, and I think it’s important to listen to and support the people that live there and have a cultural connection with the mountain.

So sign this or whatever, and not just cuz Khal Drogo says to.

whoa is that the like 30ft telescope they wanna build that canada just agreed to help fund?

shit son.

Help save the Lipizzans!

A Lipizzan stud near Toulouse, France has gone bankrupt. About 250 Lipizzans and 50 other horses were supposed to be slaughtered in November, but thanks to the initiative of horse friends and the fast sales of 80 horses they were given time until the end of April! Only 3000 - 4000 exist of them worldwide!

The horses cost between 1.500€ - 2.500€, all of them are registered in the French Lipizzan Association and have purebred pedigrees! Naturally they are dressage prodigies!

This is the Facebook page, on which new horses are presented every day: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Schlachthaus-der-Lipizzaner/753921744679307?sk=timeline

The local contact in France is Elisabeth Burger. Here her e-mail address: elisa.burger@ymail.com

She speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Please reblog or just spread the word.

they should be fucking giving these horses away if its that or slaughter

Can I have one?!

If shipping them over to here didn’t cost so much I’d buy one!

dontquityourgaydream:

Hey guys! I am in serious need here.

I have 2 wonderful hedgehogs who need rehomed. I am moving in with my grandparents and cannot take them along due to my grandpa’s allergy to all animals. I also cannot leave them behind at my stepmom’s place due to the fact that they would live in my sister’s room and she keeps her room cold because she cannot handle heat due to her POTS and hedgehogs have to be kept warm. So either she’s suffering or they are.

I live in Mount Vernon, Illinois and could probably convince someone to give me a ride to meet anywhere within a 3 hour radius. From what I know of, that would be (North) Champaign, Illinois, (West) past St. Louis, MO (that’s actually about an hour and a half away), same with Evansville, Indiana (East). I have absolutely no idea about what is South of me…

They are both 3 year-old females, sisters actually, born in September sometime. Healthy, sociable, and mildly tempered.

I am asking $250 for each of them. This includes (1 for each) a cage, a liner, a towel to go under the liner, a litter box, toys, a food bowl and a water bowel, a cloth that they sleep under, half of the litter I have left, and an exercise wheel.

They’re great pets and the loves of my life and I absolutely hate getting rid of them but right now I have no other choice.

If interested please send me an ask on here. Thank you.
