I always feel so weird being at someones house that doesn’t have a pet. I have so many four legged fluffs in my house that I’m always looking out for so I don’t step on them, that when I’m at someones house without pets my mind makes me SEE animal shapes that aren’t there. Then when no one is talking you just have to stare at someone or something cause there’s no animal to call over to be pet while waiting for someone to make conversation. And also its apparently not acceptable to pet the person next to you and make purring noises in the silence. So basically I go nuts when there are no animals at my feet.

Okay so I know this isn’t about exotics or anything but I feel the need to rant about this. I absolutely HATE going to pet stores that sell puppies.
Most are kept in small little cubes, but larger breeds are kept in kennels out on the floor. There is hardly any noticeable ventilation in the cubes so I am sure it smells great in there cause it sure smells like crap around them. There are holes in the floor of the cages, which I’m guessing is for their business to fall into but that’s hardly ever the case.
They are forced to drink out of water bottles meant for rabbits! Oh and not to mention that the water is PINK! I have been told by many people that used to work in a pet store and also a rescue group, that its antibiotics in the water bottles. EVERY SINGLE ONE! That tells me they are assuming they don’t have a healthy stock of dogs. They are also trying to make them seem healthy until they sell them for a crazy amount of money.
This is what I’ve noticed from basically every pet store that has puppies for sale. These are also my own experiences. Please feel free to add anything to this and/or your opinion on puppies being sold in pet stores, or pet stores in general.
