Wait for USARK’s future plans, we may be able to remove retics from the list with a bit of elbow grease. Not sure about the anacondas.

I am so sad for all of the retic and Annie keepers.

Hopefully, with some effort, we’ll be able to one day get them off of the list. USARK is currently working to remove Burmese pythons from the list as well.

My biggest fear is if they keep going like this what’s keeping them from going with all boas and pythons? They wanted to.

http://usark.org/action-alert/usark-legal-action-against-fws-constrictor-rule/

In the first paragraph it states the FWS wanted to add all Boa, Python, and Eunectes.

This is why it’s extremely important to donate to USARK whenever possible, even if it’s not much. The people that represent us at USARK are the ones that often save us from things like this.

Exactly, USARK is by far the most valuable asset to the reptile community. And they don’t get near the amount of funds they need to fight all of this.

So let this be encouragement to everyone to donate your spare dollars… If we want these legislators to leave our pets alone and if we want our pets to stay safe, we NEED someone to represent us. They’re really going to need our help in order to fight the good fight here.

And to sum up a quick facebook post of Brian Barczyk,

This will not be a quick fix. All we have in the ability to fight this ban and POTENTIALLY get these animals removed from the Lacey act. And it will take years at least. The key to winning this will be patients, diligence, and willingness to donate to USARK so that they can fight for us as a whole community.

And remember, its times like this that we, as a community of animals lovers, need to stand together to protect what we are so passionate about.

For those of you that need links to donate you can find information through

USARKS facebook page

Or through their website

 USARK.org

And remember, if you are going to donate, specifically donate to the Reptile defense fund, as that fund is the one that directly goes to the political side of this.
