My cutie patootie, Flora!

oH MY GOD YES

For everyone who doesn’t know, this is a shingleback. They are by far the most sweetest cutest babiest babes in the whole lizzard world. Let me tell you why:

1. They are so slow and fat. Like so slow. They come from Australia, and are often so slow that they can rarely cross a road without getting hit- these are like turtle skinks. That look like toothless from how to train your dragon. But this slowness can cause some problems, which leads me to

2. They mate for life. In the wild, every year around breeding season the same male and female will meet up and spend the next few weeks together, wondering and gently nudging cuddling each other. Not only are they monogamous, but it’s been Documented that when a pair slowly meanders across a road and one is hit by a car and dies, the partner will stay there for up to THREE DAYS. For THREE DAYS the partner will stay by them, often risking being hit by a car themselves, and gently nudge their partner. *sobs into keyboard*

3. They are in the skink family, thus give live birth. Let’s take that in for a second. Look at thosea things, they are literally black dragon pinecones. Now imagine <I> giving birth to that. <I> generally a female will only have one or two babies, with very few recorded females birthing more. The babies take up 1/3 of the females ENTIRE body weight too. That’s like giving birth to a 3 year old child! These ladies are badaaaaass.

And last but not least,
4. They are mini dragons. Not only are they an endangered but glorious and respectable species, but they look like fucking dragons. Like seriously, does that not look like toothless???!

In conclusion, your little Flora is waayy more awesome than my great aunt Flora.

Flora resents the notion she is slow and fat! She is very lethal over short distances!
