Does anybody have any advice about renting an apartment with snakes? I know the word "snake" can really freak people out.

I haven’t had to find an apartment while having snakes sooooo anyone have any advice?

I didn’t have my herps when I moved in but I told the people in charge on Day 1 that I’d be getting some… they didn’t care at all. My apartment maintenance guy thinks I’m the coolest tenant because of them, and the concierge asks me how they’re doing quite often. Not everybody is as leery of snakes as you might think! Try the words “small snake” and “securely locked cage.” Or find out about your apartment’s pet policy- like, my place charges pet rent for cats and dogs but doesn’t care about things in cages. Some places won’t even ask.

“Are glass cages for terrariums okay?” is a good way to broach the subject, especially if there’s a limit on what size...

This a hard one; there's a huge stigma about reptiles. I got mine after moving in, and still my landlady flipped out:...
